Sheeza Shah
Sheeza Shah is the founder and managing director of UpEffect, a crowdfunding and social impact consultancy dedicated to supporting ventures solving social, environmental and economic challenges. She has used her experience in tech, nonprofits and social enterprises to help propel numerous organizations, achieving a 95% success rate in meeting crowdfunding targets.
Her recent projects include the launch of the Zebra Solidarity Fund, a cooperative funding pot inspired by the Islamic Zakat framework of a 2.5% wealth tax, and Rafa’a (رفع), a financing instrument designed to revive the original essence of Islamic economics and promote sustainable wealth redistribution to the global majority. Additionally, Sheeza serves as the co-executive director of Catalyst, where she is defining and promoting the just and ethical use of technology to support liberation movements and grassroots organizations.
