Joshua Pederson is an associate professor of humanities at Boston University and the author of Sin Sick: Moral Injury in War and Literature and The Forsaken Son: Child Murder and Atonement in Modern American Fiction. His writing has appeared in the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, the Boston Globe, Slate and the Daily Beast.
